Inhibin

Source: Released from Sertoli cells in male and granulosa cells of follicles in the female.

Functions of inhibin

  • It decreases FSH secretion.
  • It affects follicular growth.
  • The number of follicles that ovulate is controlled by inhibin because it controls the secretion of FSH.

Activin

Source: Granulosa cells of follicles,

Functions of activin

  • It increases FSH secretion.
