Use of microscope

• Inspect slide with the naked eye. Handle slide by corners.
• Place the slide on stage, apply clips, lower scan to its minimum, achieve focus with coarse and later with the fine adjustment screw.
• Higher magnification for detailed study.

Care of the light microscope

• Clean the microscope before and after its use.
• The oil immersion lens should be cleaned with a drop of xylene and muslin cloth.
• Avoid excessive rubbing of the lens.
• Keep the microscope covered.
• Lower the lens down to the object, then move the lens upward and focus.
• Keep both eyes open.
